SUCH AN UNASSUMING CAR ACTOR

George Vidovic is having a dream run with the stylish superstar he manages. No squabbling over fees or commissions, no whining about career development, no tantrums. But the work keeps rolling in, and the profile of George's sex symbol - a baby-blue, 1956 Ford Thunderbird - continues to grow. The Car has just finished a six-month slog on Ten's Neighbours, during which it was sat in, driven and fondled by some of its biggest stars. "It takes it all in it's stride." Says Vidovic, a car wizard who eaves his magic from his South Melbourne garage. "Purists will tell you I've bastardised the Thunderbird. But all I've done is modify it so it can be driven daily." Vidovic has retained the classical styling but has beefed up the power and addes disc brakes and power steering. "It's almost idiotproof." Said Vidovic, who customised it for his wife, Maggie.

The car has appeared in telly ads for Just Jeans, Westco, Telstra and other promotions.
"With the popularity of Neighbours in the UK, it's an international star," said Vidovic. “Which is great news for anybody with a Thunderbird: when a car like this gets attention on TV, popularity increases and so does the value."
Life as a star car can be rewarding, of course.
"The most recent Just Jeans shoot involved Kimberley Davies, who washed it in the driveway of her house," said Vidovic. "The car really enjoyed that."
Who wouldn't?
