The Python Strikes Back

Team owner George Vidovic did a lot of foxing over the weekend and when he handed his Python over to ROH Commodore hard?charger driver, Christian D'Agostin to drive, his aggressive driving style ruffled a few feathers, but it paid dividends when he won the three races.
In some awesome racing in the 'snake pit', the Python and the Cobra lookalike Robnell of Lyndon Punshon, had the crowd on their feet as they went head to head for three races.
RACE 1: It was a great entry list of thirty, with twelve different marques, as Punshon won the start from D'Agostin, who was helping him 'round the corners, followed by Tom Hutchinson (Triumph TR8).
The MGBGTV8's of Rob Peckett and Andrew McDowell had a terrific battle for fourth place while Richard Batchelor (Porsche 930), Allan Burns, Tom Cantwell (240Z's) and Drew Marget (Porsche 91 IRSCS) was another great dice for sixth place. D'Agostin grabbed the lead at one stage, spun off at turn one and still fought back to run out an easy winner.
RACE 2: D'Agostin and Hutchinson made up the front row for the second race with Punshon starting from the rear of the grid. The Python let it rip in a fantastic start to lead Hutchinson, McDowell and Peckett, with Punshon soon up to fifth place. Marget and Batchelor were in a good early battle while, back in the pack, Dennis O'Keefe was leading the Porschapart 944 brigade from Garth Rainsbury, Calvin Pusterla, Mathew Gaut and Paul Faulkiner.

D'Agostin controlled the race right to the end, while there was a lot of excitement at turn one where the 944's were seeing who. could have the biggest loose. POINTSCORE: Punshon made a terrific start to get to turn one first as D'Agostin fought back up the back straight to grab the lead. at the gum tree ? all this on the first lap.
Hutchinson was again third with a gap to Marget and Burns, Allan Goodall (Alfa GTV6), Cantwell and Batchelor, with Russell Butler (Westfield) taking his car to the limit.
D'Agostin and Punshon were putting on a titanic struggle while Mandy Parry?Jones (Mazda MX5) was battling hard to get away from the 944's, with Gaut and David Casey having a great battle.
The situation became pretty hairy as the leaders weaved their way through the slower cars, but in the end D'Agostin was able to score a comfortable win.
